In the past two weeks, Fareconnect.com has had two cases
where clients were denied boarding flights, as they did not have the proper Visa’s
to enter the United States. In both
cases, the clients were leaving Canada heading to Europe via the United States. Even though they are on the international
side, they are still required to clear customs prior to boarding. Two points to take away; always ask your
clients if they have the proper passports / Visa’s to enter the country and tell
them to confirm this prior to their departure.
The second point is that we are not experts, so always put the responsibility
on the client. Always assist them and help
them but never claim that you know the answer.
In the two cases above, the two agents handled it correctly.
Although disappointed, the clients were
not disgruntled at Fareconnect.com as they were made aware of the
responsibility by the agents prior.
